Pilot Point 20, Brock 14 — Aydon Cox hit Bruce Javin with a 40-yard touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to break a 14-all tie and lift the Bearcats to a hard-fought win over Brock in the district opener for both teams.
Trailing 14-7 in the fourth quarter, the Eagles tied the game on a 5-yard Cash Jones touchdown run, but Pilot Point (4-1, 1-0) answered with what proved to be the game-winning score. Both teams finished with 313 yards of total offense, with Brock holding a 238-193 advantage on the ground. Jones led the Eagle offense with 177 yards and two scores on 26 carries.
Brock (3-2, 0-1) will look to rebound from Friday’s loss next week, when it hosts winless Bowie.
