District 5-2A Division II: Week 3 Report

Munday 39, Roscoe JV 0 — The Moguls are at present, playing against a string of JV teams, due to low numbers.

They will again take the field with a varsity squad on Sept. 20 against Clarendon and will remain on a varsity schedule for the remainder of the football season.

The Moguls are currently 1-0 vs. varsity clubs and 2-1 overall.

Wheeler 33, Clarendon 8 —Coming off a lopsided loss to Hamlin, Wheeler redeemed itself with a rout of Clarendon.

WHS led 19-0 at the break and 25-0 through three quarters — never being seriously threatened.

Wheeler will next travel to Amarillo on Sept. 20 to face Highland Park.

Abernathy 51, Wellington 6 — The Antelopes avenged a lopsided loss to Wellington last season with a rout of their own.

AHS amassed 369 yards rushing and seven TDs while improving to 3-0.

Bryson Daily was the top ground gainer for Abernathy, with 163 yards and three scores on 17 carries.

Shamrock 36, Dimmitt 14 — In chalking up their first win of the 2019 campaign the Fighting Irish charted their best numbers to date, ending with 432 total yards.

This included 259 yards rushing to improve to 1-2.

It is likely that Shamrock will need every bit of its current momentum going into next week with a road date against powerhouse Gruver.

Quanah (0-2) — The Indians were idle on Friday.

QHS will again take the field on Sept. 20 when it faces Ralls on the road.

Memphis (0-2) — The Cyclones were Idle on Friday.

MHS will see action again on Sept. 20 when they host Electra.
