It took the Midland Lee offense a little while to get going Thursday, but once it did, the Rebels were off to the races in a 35-21 win over Abilene High at Shotwell Stadium.
Lee hit AHS for five passing touchdowns, including three of 46 or more yards, to improve to 2-0 on the year, while dropping the Eagles to 0-2.
Abilene High led 7-0 deep into the first quarter, but the Rebels responded with 28 consecutive points, building all the cushion they’d need to coast to victory over their former Little Southwest Conference rival.
