ALBANY — Locked in a pitchers’ duel for 4½ innings Friday in Game 3 of their Region I-4A bi-district series against Iowa Park, the Big Spring Lady Steers broke through in a big way in the fifth, plating six runs on their way to a 6-3 win over the Lady Hawks.

The Lady Steers bunched five of their nine hits in that pivotal inning, and pitcher Maddie Daniels and the her defense handled the rest, holding off a late Iowa Park rally to secure a spot in the area round.
