The Colorado City boys basketball team beat Dublin at its own game Tuesday, matching the Lions’ breakneck pace and outshooting coach Will Parker’s squad from 3-point range to claim a 74-59 win in a Region I-3A bi-district playoff at Cooper’s Cougar Gym.
The Wolves led wire to wire, scoring the game’s first five points and racing out to a 22-12 first-quarter lead that they’d stretch to 18 points by halftime.
After seeing the deficit reach 21 in both the second and third quarters, Dublin rallied to pull within 12 in the fourth, but a hot-shooting C-City team never let the Lions get any closer than that.
