Deven Bailey scored 20 points and Josh Henry added 15 on Friday to help the Cooper boys basketball team open District 4-5A play with a comfortable 64-49 home win and complete a doubleheader sweep over Wichita Falls High.

The victory capped a successful night at Cougar Gym, where earlier in the evening the Cooper girls routed the Lady Coyotes 71-29 for their first district win.

After taking an 18-13 lead into the second quarter of Friday’s late game, the Cougars outscored the Coyotes 41-19 over the next two periods, including a 23-8 run through the third, to win their third straight game and improve to 13-10 on the season.
