
Colorado City 33, Coahoma 13 — Locked in a tough game with a 19-13 lead after three quarters, C-City ended Coahoma’s upset bid with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.
Reid Harris scored on an 8-yard run and Markis Monroe found the end zone from 14 yards to put the game away, improving C-City to 8-1 and 3-1.
With a win over Stanton next Friday, the Wolves can lock up one of the top three seeds in the district, depending on the outcome of the Abernathy/Idalou game. Coahoma (3-6, 1-3) can lock up a No. 4 seed with a win over Lubbock Roosevelt on the same evening.
Abernathy 61, Lubbock Roosevelt 6 — Bryson Daily threw for 135 yards, rushed for 57 and accounted for five touchdowns to help the Antelopes stay on pace for the district title.
The Antelopes will play host to Idalou next Friday and can lock up the top seed with a win.
Roosevelt fell to 1-8 and 1-3.
Idalou 69, Stanton 0 — A 34-point second quarter ended the competitive phase of this game, which saw the Wildcats rush for 298 of their 434 total yards.
Quarterback Pierce Clary was the primary weapon, throwing for 136 yards, rushing for 107 and accounting for six TDs (five on the ground).
Idalou (7-2, 3-1) will close the season at Abernathy with a shot at the district championship. Stanton (1-8, 0-4) was limited to 74 yards in total offense.
