Cooper throttles Lubbock High, clinches playoff berth

LUBBOCK — Aaron Roan’s first season at the helm of the Cooper football team will end in the same place the previous 11 Cougar seasons have — in the playoffs.

The Coogs thoroughly dominated Lubbock High 49-7 Friday night at Lowrey Field in a District 2-5A Division I game to clinch a playoff berth.

Sophomore quarterback Aiden Thompson, who threw for 265 yards and four touchdowns, said the team wanted to get Roan in the postseason as soon as possible.
