Grapevine 31, Cooper 13 — Mistakes kept this game from being closer than it could have been for the Cougars, but coach Aaron Roan’s team made significant progress Friday on a rainy night at Apogee Stadium.

The Coogs outgained the Mustangs 276-223, and had a chance to make it a game in the fourth quarter but missed a few key opportunities and had turnovers lead to defensive scores for Grapevine.

Senior running back Nic Bailey continued his emergence as a playmaker for Cooper, rushing for 128 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries while adding 104 yards and another score on three catches.
