Stephenville 13, Everman 10 — The Yellow Jackets (1-1) broke into the win column with 243 passing yards and a score from Kade Renfro.

SHS was outgained 309-260, but had a plus-3 turnover ratio to serve as compensation.

The ‘Jackets will host Wylie (0-2) on Friday at Memorial Stadium in Stephenville.

Brownwood 70, Snyder 3 — Nothing went right Friday for the Tigers, who allowed 42 first-quarter points and trailed 63-0 at halftime in their second consecutive loss to open the season.

Brownwood scored touchdowns on each of its first four offensive plays and finished the first half with two touchdowns on defense (both interception returns) and a special teams score on a punt return. The Lions outgained the Tigers 335-98 in the homecoming rout.

Snyder (0-2) will try to regroup before next week’s game at San Angelo Lake View, while Brownwood will look to improve to 3-0 with a home win over Graham.

China Spring 24, Addison Trinity Christian 14 — Brayden Faulkner threw three TD passes to three different receivers help the Cougars improve to 2-0.

China Spring will next face Waco Connally (2-0) in a game that is already generating interest in the Waco area.

No. 3 Argyle 49, No. 1 Waco La Vega 35 — There will be a new sheriff in town when Monday’s statewide rankings are released, courtesy of third-ranked Argyle’s upset of top-ranked La Vega.

Bo Hogehoom threw four first-half TD passes to lead Argyle, which locked up the win on a two-yard TD run by Tito Byce with four seconds to play.

Waco Robinson 55, Gatesville 3 — The fact that Gatesville produced just over 200 yards in total offense was the least of the Hornets’ problems.
Six turnovers turned a bad situation worse.

It doesn’t get any easier for Gatesville, which faces Cameron Yoe on the road on Friday.
