EASTLAND Q&A: Coach Matt Landers talks about building a culture at EHS and his change in offense

After suffering through an 0-10 campaign in his debut as Eastland’s head football coach last season, Matt Landers has kept is nose to the grindstone. His effort to rebuild a winning culture at EHS remains unchanged, though his offense will in 2026.

A devoted option fan, Landers is shifting the Mavericks to a run-first spread attack this year in the belief that it is a better fit and can help the Mavericks pick up their production.

Landers now sits with Evan Ren for a brief chat about his ongoing efforts to revitalize Eastland football, his offensive switch and the reaction of the players in this Big Country Preps Q&A.
