Hagen Hughes ran for 202 yards and two touchdowns to lift the Azle Hornets to a thrilling 41-34 win over Cooper in the season opener for both teams Friday night at Shotwell Stadium.
Hughes scored twice on counter plays in the second half â once from 77 yards and a second time from 34 â and those sprints basically spelled the difference in a battle featuring very evenly matched teams lifted by big plays all evening long.
