Central outgained Abilene High 432-246, getting 321 yards and two touchdowns passing from quarterback Malachi Brown, who also rushed nine times for 52 yards and two more scores. Tanner Dabbert was Brown’s favorite target, hauling in seven passes for 128 yards and a TD.
AHS (2-5, 1-2), which was led in the loss by running back Phonzo Dotson (19-77 rushing) and receiver Jeshari Houston (6-60 receiving), will try to bounce back this week at home against Haltom City Haltom. Central, meanwhile, will travel to the Dallas-Fort Worth area for a matchup with North Richland Hills Richland.
