GAME STORY: Stamford takes “Battle for 277” over Haskell

HASKELL — The Stamford football team was looking for a spark Friday night against Highway 277 rival Haskell and found two of them — in the first quarter alone.

D’Marcus Barber had a pair of first quarter touchdown runs before the two squads endured a 45-minute lightning delay that changed the game in a 39-14 Bulldogs win that spoiled the Indians’ homecoming game.

Stamford put up 480 yards of offense, with Barber accounting for 268 of those as the offense got rolling with the senior running back and quarterback Trace Price.
