BRECKENRIDGE — Heading into the penultimate week of the regular season, there were four teams battling for the final two playoff spots out of District 4-3A Division II behind Jacksboro and Holliday.
The playoff picture became crystal clear on Friday as Merkel claimed a 14-6 win over Breckenridge at Buckaroo Stadium while Henrietta eliminated Wichita Falls City View from the postseason with a 60-0 win.
Friday’s win clinched a playoff berth for the Badgers, while setting up a win-or-go-home situation in the Breckenridge-Henrietta game next week. The winner between the Buckaroos and Bearcats will claim the fourth playoff spot in the district.
