COAHOMA FEATURE: Success in unexpected return to QB has Austin Joslin ready for big senior year

When the 2025 season began, the plan for Austin Joslin was to make the full-time switch from quarterback to wide receiver.

With four-year starter Boyd Cox set to return for his senior year,  Coahoma coach Chris Joslin wanted to get his son on the field in a place he could contribute and didn’t think it was fair to ask him to bounce back and forth between positions.

It took all of one game, though, for those plans to fall by the wayside.

Cox injured his knee in the Bulldogs’ opener, forcing Austin back to the position he’d grown up playing. And all he did from there was calmly and confidently lead CHS to a 9-3 campaign that ended in the area round with a loss to perennial power Canadian.
