A year ago, the Coahoma football team overcame an early season-ending injury to standout quarterback Boyd Cox to post a 9-3 record.
In the process, the Bulldogs secured their best two-year win total since 2000-01 and extended their run of .500 or better campaigns to four consecutive seasons, pushing their ledger to 28-16 over that stretch.
This year, coach CHS will look to continue that run of success with a youthful squad that will feature six new starters on both sides of the ball. But after getting a lot of those young players playing time in reserve roles last fall, coach Chris Joslin feels his team has the talent to compete for its first district title since 2001 in a new league that no longer includes defending state champion Wall.
