WICHITA FALLS — Austin Cummins passed for 210 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 84 yards and an additional score to lead Cooper to a 45-21 win over Wichita Falls Legacy on Friday at Memorial Stadium.
Needing a win to maintain control of their playoff destiny, the Cougars rallied from an early 7-0 deficit to pull away in the second half for a comfortable victory to improve to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in District 2-5A Division II play.
Leading just 24-21 in the third quarter, Cooper closed the game with 21 unanswered points to put the Leopards away and earn a likely winner-take-all matchup with Amarillo Palo Duro at home in Week 11 for the district’s fourth and final playoff spot.
