GAME STORY: Roscoe gets defensive in hard-fought 20-14 win over Junction

ROSCOE — Roscoe’s final nondistrict game against Junction on Friday wasn’t high on style points — or points in general, for that matter. But at the end of the night at Plowboy Field, the home squad had more of the ones that mattered in a hard-fought 20-14 win.

The Plowboys finished the game with just 205 yards of total offense and had more punts (seven) than first downs (six), but coach Jake Freeman’s team took advantage of five Eagles turnovers in a strong defensive performance overall.

Parker Gleaton caught a pair of touchdown passes and fellow senior Julian Cuellar had three of Roscoe’s four interceptions to key the victory, which improved the Plowboys to 4-1 heading into next week’s District 6-4A Division II opener at Cross Plains.
