MIDLAND — The Abilene High football team got off to a good start Friday against Midland Legacy, scoring on its first drive to take an early 7-0 lead, but things went downhill from there in a 56-20 nondistrict loss to the Rebels.
Legacy outscored the Eagles 49-0 the rest of the first half and led 56-7 early in the third quarter, before AHS scored its final two touchdowns to cap the scoring.
The loss dropped Abilene High to 1-2 heading into its final nondistrict game next week at home against Wolfforth Frenship.
