GAME STORY: Lady Cards fall short of title in loss to D’Hanis

AUSTIN — Among the statistics that the Hermleigh Lady Cardinals may remember most from Wednesday’s 6-2 loss to D’Hanis in the Class 1A state title game, will be runners left on base. 

The Lady Cardinals stranded nine of them —more than double the D’Hanis victory margin in a frustrating afternoon of missed opportunities in an otherwise cleanly played game at McCombs’ Field.
