ODESSA — Reese Farrar shut down the El Paso Chapin softball team for most of the night as Wylie opened the Region I-5A area round with a 12-6 win Friday at Odessa Permian.
Ryleigh Whitehead had a pair of home runs as the Wylie offense collected six extra-base hits.
Whitehead and Mycala Reed each drove in four runs in the win.
