The Cooper baseball team bounced back well from Tuesday’s district-opening loss to Lubbock Cooper, using a 10-run second inning to run-rule Lubbock Monterey 13-2 in a District 4-5A matchup Friday at Cougar Field.
The Cougars got five strong innings from pitcher Jack Keefer and gave the senior all the run support he would need during that big second inning, sending 14 batters to the plate in the frame to chase Monterey starter Nick Zarate.
