AHS, which fell to 3-6 overall 2-3 in District 3-6A play with the loss, was limited to just 135 total yards and one offensive touchdown, allowing Weatherford to take a 43-6 lead midway through the third quarter.
The loss puts the Eagles’ playoff hopes on life support. With North Richland Hills Richland and San Angelo Central winning on Friday, AHS now must beat district co-leader Euless Trinity (7-1, 3-1) this week and hope that either Richland tops Trinity in Week 11 or that Weatherford (6-2, 2-2) drops its last two games to Richland and Hurst Bell.
