Apparently there are those in Dublin who are thinking along the same lines. And in Monday night’s DISD school board meeting, one of the highest honors that can be bestowed on a football coach was awarded to him.
As an emotional Cervetto looked on, the school board voted unanimously to name its new 3,700-seat on-campus football field after he and his wife. The Lions, who have never played a game of football on campus, will do so next fall at Bob and Norma Cervetto Stadium.
This signifies something that the Dublin community should be quite proud of — the ability to patiently let a coach do the primary job he was assigned to do — love and set an example for our kids.
