BROWNWOOD — By late December, coach Nadir Dalleh’s Brownwood boys basketball team appeared to be spinning its wheels.
Slugging their way through a difficult-by-design nondistrict schedule, the Lions entered their hometown tournament — The Texas Bank Holiday Classic — with a modest 7-9 overall record.
They had already taken severe beatings from larger schools from Granbury North Central Texas Academy (82-26), Odessa Permian (50-30), Granbury (62-43) and Cooper (67-41) along the way.
