Abilene High coach Del Van Cox has been challenging his offensive line all year to be more physical.
The past two weeks, that group has responded.
Since averaging just 94.7 rushing yards per game and 2.5 yards per carry through the first three weeks of the season, the Eagles have rushed for 647 yards 6.2 yards per attempt in their last two games. While the team’s backs have gotten well-deserved attention for their increased production, the heart of that change is an O-line group that accepted their coach’s challenge and vowed to do something about it.
